New Pipes and Sticks on Route 66 Trailer

Check out the new trailer we just finished for our soon-to-be-released documentary.

When will the film be released?

Over the last several months, we have been working on a new version of PIPES & STICKS, restructuring and shortening the film in order to make it more appealing to a general audience while still maintaining the amazing performances of Willie, Jim, Angus, Stuart and Mike.

There is still quite a lot of costly work to get the film completed:  editing, sound mixing, color correction, and music clearances. And one can never underestimate the marketing costs of getting the film released and out into the world. Financial oversight  continues  through the non-profit International Documentary Association who accept donations on behalf of the project, and contributions are tax-deductible for US residents. The IDA closely monitors the money donated to make sure it is used for the expenses incurred on the film, and they will make their records available to anyone who requests a financial report. Donations can be made at http://documentary.org/fsp/4013

Many folks have been anxiously waiting for DVDs, streaming and downloading to become available. As soon as it is economically viable to release the film on all these formats, we will do so.

Thank you for your patience and your support.

“The mythical rock n roll road lifestyle seems to have taken hold of several professional pipers and drummers (“professional” meaning they make a living from teaching and performing) for the first time with the “Pipes n Sticks on 66″ tour planned for April. Mike Cole, Stuart Liddell, Jim Kilpatrick, Willie McCallum and Angus MacColl seem to be the first to make fantasy reality by tracking the famous old US Highway glamourized so often in song to get their kicks in a mini-bus, stopping along the way, fighting off the chicks and hoping a roadie or two will look after their gear…”
